Our interior design process

We keep our design process as seamless as possible for all our clients.

From concept to completion all aspects of any interior design project are well considered and implemented on time and on budget.  Not one project is the same, meaning we always have a very flexible approach to clients’ wishes.

Initial consultation

We offer a free one hour initial meeting at the property to discuss all your requirements.

This way we get a better feel and understanding of how clients use their homes and improvements that are needed.

After years in the industry Nicola can quickly and intuitively articulate the direction, style and aspirations that a potential client may desire for their home.

As every project varies in size and complexity a quote will be tailored to the client’s requirements.

We offer a fixed per project, so you don’t have to be worried about running up costs. The fixed fee includes floor plans, mood boards, sourcing of all furniture, fabrics, fittings and accessories, plus a detailed provisional budget.

Once we have all the information needed we will put together a fee proposal for your project.  This gives you a detailed breakdown of how the design process will work to your brief, along with a breakdown of the fees.

Concept and development

The first stage of the interior design will be the initial design concept. We develop design drawings and presentation boards capturing key design aspirations, furniture selections and mood images. To further convey the bespoke design aesthetics we introduce materials and fabrics to assist in identifying colour palettes and tones highlighting the tactile and softer elements of the design scheme.

The development stage of the interior design will be to finalise the agreed designs into a complete design package. Typically this will include detailed specifications and drawings of wall finishes, floor finishes, ceiling finishes, bathroom design, sanitary ware, window treatments, joinery, lighting, ironmongery and other finishes. These can then be passed onto the contractors where necessary.

Once the design has been agreed and the client is happy to go ahead, we will organise the purchasing of items through our trusted suppliers and artisans. This is a bespoke service tailored to each individual project. There are often many elements to the design that need to be co-ordinated at a detailed level.

This service includes detailed budgets, placing supplier orders and payments, updating orders when required, keeping close contact with suppliers, organising any supplier visits to site and making sure deliveries are on time.

We will also organise and be present at the final signing off stage of installation. We will pass on trade discounts that arise, and always strive to give you the best offers available to us.

Completion

We will provide a monitoring role throughout the construction phase of the project through to completion.

Our role will be to review workmanship, quality of materials and conformity to the design, as well as inspecting furniture and accessories before, during and after installation.

On completion we are on hand to make sure any snagging has been taken care of and that the design has been implemented to the highest of standards. If necessary our team can also complete the final dressing or staging of the property to create the full lifestyle as the final touch.
