This home was tired and dated, and the brief from the young family was to bring some life into it while retaining the period elements of the property.
We replaced the flooring throughout with lovely wide oak planks, brightened up the dark ceiling beams and sourced all new furniture and fabrics. We opened up the existing fireplaces to create a double-sided fire that connects the large hall area to the living room. This dead space in the hall was turned into a cozy seating area where the client could sit and have drinks by the fire.
The client was very happy with the end result and particularly liked the furniture chosen, which was contemporary and bright without clashing with the property style itself.
